Hello Fellow TMTA Members

This has been a trying time over the past few months navigating through the Covid-19 Pandemic, something we have never experienced during our lifetime. We hope you, your family and those close to you have been able take precautions to avoid the virus, have stayed healthy and safe.

As the Province of Ontario moves through its recovery steps, we will continue to monitor the regional and municipal guidelines for meeting/gathering attendance levels. This may take more time than we originally anticipated in holding our first fall meeting September 3rd, but if we all continue to follow the advice of the Ministry of Health it still may become a reality.

For those that have had to sit out during the pandemic, we hope the programs provided by our governments have been able to support your needs until which time business resumes. For many of us our services have been deemed essential, continuing to work at our normal place of employment while some others are able to work isolated at home to support the needs of our drivers. It is good to see the well-deserved appreciation put on our industry, not the typical bad press. We have more to thank our drivers for, not just braking or wearing out equipment to give us work but for keeping our much-needed food and supply chain moving, we must take the time to thank them.

May you take some time to reflect on what has happened over the past few months and be thankful for those that have worked diligently to control the spread of the virus and the many tirelessly providing treatment for the less fortunate. For those that have suffered a loss in their family or someone close to them, we express our deepest sympathy for you and your family. Our world has changed and may never be the same.

From your board of directors, stay safe, wear a mask in public where social distances cannot be followed and wash your hands. For more information, covid-19.ontario.ca or publichealth@regionofwaterloo.ca
